  1. Breaking the garlic clove
    First, you need to take a fresh garlic head and break it into cloves. Choose the bigger cloves to plant as small ones produce smaller bulbs. Do not damage the clove from their base as if the base is damaged then the garlic wouldn’t be able to grow.
  2. Push the clove in the soil
    Push the cloves of garlic 2 inches deep into the soil and make sure that you maintain a distance of 8 inches between every garlic clove. Planting them at a distance would be favorable for the plant for better growth.
  3. Cover the plant with mulch
    Place the mulch on the surrounding of the soil so that the soil can retain the moisture content and all the nutrients would stay in the soil. For mulch, you can use dry leaves, straw, compost, well, rotted manure, grass clippings, and wood chips.
  4. Fertilizing the cloves
    Planted garlic needs fertilizer to grow. At the time of planting the clove, you need to fertilize them and again at the time of spring if you are planting in the fall and vice versa.

  • Water the soil every day as you need to keep the soil moist and hydrated.
  • Place them in sunlight to grow.
